Happy International Women’s Day(IWD)! My husband pointed out to me in a conversation that my being Woman, Wife, Mother, and Daughter has the abbreviation WMD which also refers to Weapon of Mass Destruction (WMD). I smiled about the reference then I started to ponder on the term Weapon of Mass Destruction.
According to Wikipedia, a weapon of mass destruction (WMD) is a weapon that can bring significant harm to a large number of life forms and/or cause great damage to man-made structures (e.g. buildings), natural structures (e.g. mountains), or the biosphere.
The more I read about WMDs, the more I realize the power within. Then I thought about how it relates to us as Women, Wives, Mothers, and Daughters and the enormity of our power and influence. We are God’s spiritual Weapons of Mass Destruction against the enemy. The enemy comes in the form of anyone or anything that stands between us and our destiny.
We encompass everything God wanted and needed when the very first problem arose back in the Garden of Eden. God thought of us because He endowed us with an unbreakable spirit that stands against the tests of times as helpmates for our husbands, great vessels of love and grace for our children, and God’s daughters designed with beauty, wisdom, and power.
Even the enemy recognized the value that God put on us because he didn’t show up on the scene until God made us. He saw us as a weapon sent and used by God to bring significant harm to his schemes and that’s the reason why he is doing all he can to bring us down any chance he gets. Unfortunately, he failed to realize that God built us to contain everything resilient, defiant, and invincible known to heaven and earth.
Our resilience is in knowing God’s promise that even when we walk through the fire, we will not be burned because God is with us. Our defiance is in standing on the word of God which tells us that no temptation has seized us except what is common to man and God is faithful; He will also provide a way out. Our invincibility is in being persuaded on God’s truth that we are hard pressed on every side, but we are not crushed; struck down, but not destroyed.
Let’s give the enemy something to fear by taking our rightful place as Wives, Mothers, and Daughters and fighting the good fight of faith. Let’s bring significant harm to that thief who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. Let’s stand strong in the name of the One who created us and endowed us with the ability to withstand anything that comes against our husbands, our children, and our inheritance in the most High God. Our husbands, our children, and our Father need us to step up and walk in our rightful purpose as God’s spiritual Weapons of Mass Destruction and with God on our side, we surely can.
We are not just women, we are women made for more!
We are not just wives, we are wives made for more!
We are not just moms, we are moms made for more!
We are not just daughters, we are daughters made for more!
On this International Women’s Day, I think about all the women in my life who unintentionally disrupt the status quo once they tap into the full measure of who they are, embrace their calling, live their purpose and hence become unstoppable! That is our weapon as women in destroying anything that is meant to make us feel less than what we are capable of.
Happy International Women’s Day to all of us powerful women and here’s to owning our power as we #ChooseToChallenge, which is the theme for this year’s International Women’s Day!
