Kindergarten At Home Hands On Dr Seuss Activities is in celebration of Read Across America, a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2, Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens, and books, and we are excited to be part of it!
Kindergarten At Home Hands On Dr Seuss Activities started with a trip to the library to stack up on some early readers Dr. Seuss’ books. I also surprised Babygirl by making a Dr. Seuss’ playlist songs and audiobooks on Spotify to listen to. I love when homeschool fun is reinforced all around because Babygirl gets so excited and that child sense of wonder is a joy to witness.
Theodor Seuss Geisel was an American children’s author, political cartoonist, and animator. He is known for his work writing and illustrating more than 60 books under the pen name Doctor Seuss (abbreviated Dr. Seuss). His work includes many of the most popular children’s books of all time, selling over 600 million copies and being translated into more than 20 languages by the time of his death.
Kindergarten At Home Hands On Dr Seuss Activities emphasized trying new things with “Green eggs and ham” she read at school and “Oh, the places you’ll go.” Reading either showed Babygirl how the characters in the book feel about trying new things or how they feel when things go wrong over the course of the story. However when we try something new, we can have all kinds of adventures and we may even find a new favorite thing or experience.
Kindergarten At Home Hands On Dr Seuss Activities were all about me making Babygirl a folder filled with Dr Seuss’ activities to keep the fun learning going like Horton’s elephant ears, help the Cat in the Hat count hats, challenge Babygirl’s reading skills in the Cat’s Word Find, write what begins with B based on the Berenstains’ B Book or crack the secret message from the Lorax.
Kindergarten At Home Hands On Dr Seuss Activities emphasized Dr. Seuss’ famous wild imagination in the celebration. He created all kinds of new worlds but also reimagined everyday experiences, like eggs and ham, to make them extraordinary! Dr. Seuss’ birthday celebration offered many great opportunities and activities this week to reflect on Dr. Seuss’s stories and the fun of learning.
