Our Yummy Story Destination to Milkcraft in Fairfield, Connecticut was one family trip that was long overdue. Even though Connecticut weather has been getting cooler and feeling like Fall, we couldn’t wait to experience Milkcraft handcrafted ice cream for ourselves.
Milkcraft small batch creamery began with an inspiration from a stroll down a via in Capri, Italy. The goal has been to create ice cream from scratch and express the passion for artisinal flavors. It is very important to the creamery to develop relationships with local farmers in pursuit of the purest all natural ingredients. They freeze every scoop to order with food grade Liquid Nitrogen, which creates smaller ice crystals when freezing, and results in the smoothest possible ice cream.
While in line to order, a lady in front of me complimented me about my girls and started sharing about her motherhood journey as a mom of 3 girls also. Anytime I come across moms of older children, I ask them to share tips they can give moms with younger ones like me. Well little did I know that this WELLthy MOMent would remind me of the WHY behind our WELLthy Family Lifestyle blog! This mom spent valuable time sharing at length with me in the sweetest and very honest way possible why she loves being a mother to her girls who happened to be with her at Milkcraft.
She shared that her youngest was currently a Marketing student at one of the local colleges here in Connecticut. She emphasized the importance of keeping the line of communication open with our children. I could see the fruit of her work watching her interact with her girls when we were in line. She was honest in the fact that it was not always easy but worth the investment.
I listened in humility and thankfulness. She demonstrated in that moment why it’s important to share our mom journey with each other. I may never see her again but I am so grateful for the wisdom she imparted on me. WELLthy MOMents like these add so much fuel to my “me tank” and are the reason why I do my best to add value to other moms’ journey any chance I get.
The special moment during our Yummy Story Destination to Milkcraft in Fairfield was made even sweeter when I got my hands on their famous warm Hong Kong Bubble Cone with Vietnamese Coffee made with Cold Brew Coffee, Condensed Milk and Chickory. Our girls delighted themselves in the S’mores Campfire made with Deep Cocoa Chocolate, fire roasted Marshmallows and Graham Crackers. Hubby couldn’t stop raving about the Bourbon Breakfast made with Vanilla Bean, Corn Flakes and a touch of Maple Bourbon.
Our Yummy Story Destination to Milkcraft in Fairfield was a unanimous Sweet Yes for our family and I am so glad we finally had the opportunity to experience it. When you add to it the heart to heart conversation I had with the mom who was waiting in line in front of me, I can only be thankful for many WELLthy MOMents like these, savoring yummy desserts and connecting with other moms!
