Sunday Brunching at Hair of the Dog

Sunday Brunching at Hair of the DogSunday Brunching at Hair of the Dog in Milford, CT was a spontaneous brunch planning with friends from church. My co-worker and I are hard core foodies so in one of our many conversations about local restaurants to experience, she mentioned Hair of the Dog. We hopped on the website to check out the menu and we knew we had to try almost everything on the menu.

The menu selection is out of this world and when you hear about Wanna Be Starting Somethin’ you know your choice of appetizers is off to a yummy start. You can choose from Buffalo Sold Ya (a classic Buffalo Chicken Dip rolled into an Eggroll and fried golden brown with Blue Cheese Dressing and Celery) or gluten-free Hotel Cauli-fornia (a cornmeal cauliflower crusted fried golden and served with HOTD Smokey Remoulade).

Sunday Brunching at Hair of the DogEverybody Wants Some are delicious meals that are shareable like Livin La Vida Taco (a Chicken, Steak, and Shrimp Filings with Fresh Guacamole, Pico di Gallo,  Lettuce, Tomato, Cheese, and Sour Cream on the side served with your choice of warm corn or flour tortillas and Lettuce Wraps) or Rice, Rice Baby (a Thai Style Fried Rice with Shrimp or Chicken, Fresh Pineapple, Scallions, Egg, Red Bell Pepper, Peas served in a Pineapple Bowl). You can add shrimp and Chicken if you prefer.

Heaven Must Be Missing a Ladle is your selection of soups in a bowl or bread bowl. You can choose a French Onion In The USA topped with cheese blend and crostini or All In All It’s Just Another Soup On The Wall by checking the chalkboard for the current week’s creation.

Sunday Brunching at Hair of the DogYou Sexy Thang takes a twist to what your salad menu should look like. Burnin’ Down The House Salad calls for Mixed Greens, Tomato, Red Onion, Cucumber, Peppadew Peppers, Carrot, Radish, Red Cabbage and Pepperoncini with your choice of dressing while Grilling Me Softly is your Cider Poached Pears grilled over Baby Spinach, Candied Walnuts, Dried Cranberries, Gorgonzola served with Balsamic Vinaigrette.

Sunday Brunching at Hair of the DogSunday Brunching at Hair of the Dog calls on You and Your Hand with selections like All Hellz Breakin’ Loose, an 8oz Burger cooked to order and topped with Maple Bourbon Braised Pork, Bacon, Pickled Red Onion, Sharp Cheddar, HOTD Smokey Remoulade, Lettuce and Tomato on a Pretzel Roll, and you couldn’t wipe the smile off my face after I devoured it. Boulevard of Broken Jeans is what we couldn’t wait for our friend to try and this 8oz Burger cooked to order topped with Sharp Cheddar, Tomato Jam and Bacon served on a GLAZED DONUT looks ordinary on the outside but satisfies on the inside.

Sunday Brunching at Hair of the DogHubby did not engage in any talk when he got his hands on the Fish You Were Here, a Mahi-Mahi Cajun Tacos spiced and grilled topped with Pineapple Salsa, Southwest Slaw and Avocado Lime Aioli served with Warm corn or flour Tortillas and Lettuce Wraps. Am I Evil (No I’m Not) is your Sunday Brunching at Hair of the Dog that entices you with their cauliflower crust pizza selections.

Sunday Brunching at Hair of the DogThe Kid n’ Play is the kids menu with choice like Love Me Chicken Tender or It’s Griller (a Grilled Cheese on Texas Toast with Choice of Side) or Who Let The Dogs Out, a 1/4 lb Angus Beef Hotdog Babygirl found out means busyness! Gettin’ Cheesy With It is the kids Cauliflower Cheese Pizza with Choice of One Topping.

Sunday Brunching at Hair of the Dog was exactly what we needed after church and brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays 11am-3p. We were so stuffed and glad we could go home and take a nap. We unanimously are planning an encore brunch because I can still taste all that yumminess in my maple bourbon braised pork!
