My Very First NYFW Experience At The Livari Clothing Launch

Livari Clothing Launch

My very first New York Fashion Week (NYFW) experience attending Livari Clothing launch was a dream come true.  Fashion and Style are at the heart of my WELLthy lifestyle journey and it was such an honor attending Livari Clothing launch.

What I am Wearing:

Ann Taylor Loft Navy Blue Tie Shell Top (sold out, try this here)| Uniqlo Women Satin Ankle Pants (here)  | Aldo Light Pink Stessy Heels (here) | Ivorian Prints Custom Made Jacket

Livari is a zero waste womenswear label made ethically in New York.  Livari disrupts industry norms with a community approach to design, coupled with innovative shopping experiences that speak to the need for multi-functional clothing.  I couldn’t wait to find out more about the eco-friendly ethical label, Livari.

Livari Clothing LaunchThe Livari woman is a consummate lover of thoughtful design.  This new label is a collaboration between Claudine DeSola, Alysia Reiner and Tabitha St. Bernard-Jacobs.  DeSola is a celebrity stylist (Caravan Stylist Studio) and experiential marketer.  Alysia Reiner is an actress (Orange Is The New Black, Equity).  Tabitha St. Bernard-Jacobs designs the label, Tabii Just, & is a Women’s March organizer.

My NYFW Experience attending the Livari launch with a runway show took place at the Metropolitan Pavilion West in Manhattan.  The atmosphere inside the Metropolitan Pavilion was electric and we couldn’t wait to see first hand the various designs.

Livari Clothing LaunchAt the heart of the person of St. Bernard-Jacobs is her commitment to environmentalism so she envisioned a ready-to-wear line made from remnants—think surplus fabric purchased from mills and scraps from other design projects.  The beauty about it is that the design was done with so much love and heart for the Livari woman that I could tell that the models felt fabulous in the clothes.

In the zero waste game, once a material is gone, that’s it, which means a lot of limited edition collections, totally one-of-a-kind pieces and a need for extreme creativity in the design process. But that’s not the only way St. Bernard-Jacobs is attacking the challenges of sustainability in the fashion industry. In addition to their sustainably sourced fabrics, LIVIARI is ethically made in Brooklyn with an emphasis on fair labor and will be sold direct-to-consumer in order to eliminate excess product.

My Very First NYFW Experience at the Livari Clothing LaunchI was very pleased to hear that the brand is also partnering with Cool Effect, a non-profit fighting climate change, by helping fund a carbon reduction project in Bagepalli, India,  For every sale of their t-shirt, Cool Effect will retire one ton of carbon pollution on the customer’s behalf.

My very first NYFW Experience was everything and more.  I am very excited for what’s ahead for Livari Clothing and I can tell from talking to others present that it was beautifully done.  The best part for me was meeting new people and seeing familiar faces.  I am truly thankful for the fabulous memories and glad to have been part of such a fantastic evening.
