National Marriage Week 2019 Celebration (February 7-14) is under way, and the statistics keep proving the benefits of matrimony and a stable home. National Marriage Week is a collaborative campaign to strengthen individual marriages, reduce the divorce rate, and build a culture that fosters strong marriages.

National Marriage Week USA was founded in 2010 to encourage many diverse groups to launch individual and simultaneous efforts to bring the issue of marriage to the national agenda and support marriages across the country. The effort seeks to build cooperation with houses of worship, businesses, education, the media, and governments.
I am thankful that our church is getting involved by hosting a whirlwind of events running February 10-17 during National Marriage Week 2019 Celebration. We are looking forward to Wednesday night service that will focus on the foundations for successful relationships with a couple sharing their wedded journey. On Valentine’s Day, we are celebrating Date Night with child care available so that couples can enjoy some fun together in town along with Date Night Questions to keep the conversation flowing.
I am super excited that our church is launching an 8-week marriage class on Saturday with a breakfast workshop by Jimmy Evans titled “Marriage on the Rock” to strengthen the marriages in our congregation and support families. We have started a teaching series at our church focused on what is being devoted and the 8-week Marriage Class will teach us what a devoted marriage looks like and equip us to live it.
“We exist to strengthen marriages around the country and to support those in every community who are seeking to be ‘marriage champions,'” said Executive Director Sheila Weber. “Marriage benefits children in extraordinary ways, and like any public health campaign, we want to have a sustained campaign to help marriages succeed.”
National Marriage Week 2019 Celebration provides a non-commercial way to celebrate around Valentine’s Day and serves as an ideal time to highlight the importance of marriage for individuals, families, and our nation as a whole. Even after 14 years, Hubby and I understand how important it is to invest in strengthening our marriage every chance we get and we are blessed to have many opportunities year round, especially during National Marriage Week 2019 Celebration.
