Our Family Easter Traditions create opportunities every year for us to connect and build fun memories to help us embrace the meaning of Christ’s resurrection. I never realized how important traditions were until I became a mom and started reminiscing about my family traditions growing up in Cote d’Ivoire, West Africa.
Those traditions bring such sweet memories to my mind that my husband and I decided to create special ones with our own children. Easter was a wonderful opportunity to start a fun family tradition in our backyard with our own Easter egg hunt when we first bought our home.
We purchased the Resurection Eggs set from Family Life Today some years ago and love to incorporate the “suspenseful” egg opening in our family tradition. I was happy to find a box of inspirational eggs with jelly beans inside to add some fun to the hunt. After the hunt, we came inside to read them the story behind Easter as they opened each of the 12 eggs from the Resurrection Easter Eggs set.
Our girls enjoyed the jelly beans as they watched God Rocks! Bibletoons: Rez the Rock that Rolled DVD. Previous years we decided to enjoy a Passover meal and this meaningful Jelly Bean Poem I found that teaches us the reason behind Easter.
I am truly thankful to have those WELLthy MOMents with my girls and I try my best not to let them pass by. Life gets hectic sometimes so to make meaningful family memories is worth everything in preparation for the fun day. We love our Family Easter Traditions, especially the memories collected along the way!
Happy Holy Week and I will be taking some needed time off to enjoy my family and work on some exciting business news I can’t wait to unveil soon. Enjoy all the festivities that Easter brings and let Jesus’ resurrection be a reminder to all that there is strength and beauty in any difficult times. God is working in our day to day and teaching us to trust Him through unseen circumstances and all because His resurrecting power is still at work today and for days to come.
