Our Yummy Story Destination to Firehouse Deli Our Yummy Story Destination to Firehouse Deli is where this gorgeous Spring weather found us after running a couple of errands with Babygirl. I remember the first time I walked into Firehouse Deli with my oldest, who was one year old at the time, to meet a few other mom friends for lunch after the library, I knew it would become one of our family favorite local lunch spots. Firehouse Deli, a downtown Fairfield fixture for decades, is family owned and operated.

Our Yummy Story Destination to Firehouse Deli is where you are first greeted with umbrella-topped deli tables out front but when you open the door, you are greeted with a salad bar on your right, named the best Salad Bar in Fairfield County. On your left, is a selection of prepared foods, chips and seasonal desserts and a blackboard with the lunch menu that trumps your usual cold sandwiches like Mother-In-Law Wrap, an avocado, cucumber, carrots, lettuce, tomato, jack cheese, ranch dressing, tortilla wrap or Junior Club, a house roasted turkey, bacon, Swiss, lettuce, tomato, basil, mayonnaise on white toast.

There is your choice from simple cheeseburger with sauteed onions, a spicy Southwest take with jalapeno jack cheese, avocado, and chipotle mayo, a gently California option with avocado, bacon, cheddar, lettuce and tomato, or the current hot trend of crunching up potato chips onto any and all burgers.

The plan this morning was to run errands and get home before lunch around 12:30 but it took longer than anticipated so to Firehouse Deli we went and I think I redeemed myself royally.

Our Yummy Story Destination to Firehouse Deli holds a special place in our hearts because all of those years of excellent food and customer service at Firehouse Deli. We are proud to have Firehouse Deli being a staple food destination for our family and the community. It always puts a smile to our faces anytime we enter Firehouse Deli because it brings back so many yummy memories over the years and we look forward to many more to come!
