3 Effective Stress Management Tips For WELLthy Moms

3 Effective Stress Management Tips For WELLthy Moms3 Effective stress management tips for WELLthy Moms is what I had to resort to after the Memorial weekend dealing with various health and car issues. I am a planner at heart and my week was all set to run smoothly but so I thought. Life has a way of throwing a wrench into your everyday to test your resolve.

I know how to take care of myself when I am under the weather but when it comes to my children, I sometimes feel so helpless. My two oldest qualified for the Connecticut Middle School Track and Field State Championship and we were so proud of them. They trained and worked so hard once they found out.

The forecast for the event did not look promising so we were anxiously waiting to see if the championship would be cancelled because 50 degree weather and running in the rain don’t mix but I found out that Northeast sports do not stop unless it’s a dire situation.

The first of 3 Effective stress management tips for WELLthy Moms is to hope for the best and prepare the worst.  My children have taught me to bring out that mindset when it comes to facing the day. The track meet was tough overall with my girls doing their best in the rain and the cold. I was the loudest in the bleachers and they pushed through.

3 Effective Stress Management Tips For WELLthy MomsThe second of 3 Effective stress management tips for WELLthy Moms is to stay calm through it all and mom on.  I know it takes everything in us adults not to vent or express our frustration, especially when our children are watching.  However, children are amazing beings who feed on our emotions, whether we like it or not.

Children are always observing how we, their parents, manage stress.  Children do not always do as we say but rather as we do so I tried my very best to show them how to manage stress effectively. My actions speak louder than my words and being prepared for the worst while expecting the best make any stressful situation more manageable.  Children teach us best how to seize each moment as it comes and we, parents, can learn from them.

The final of 3 Effective stress management tips for WELLthy Moms is to share with our children what’s going on without loosing control. I prepared them about the uncertainty of the day and the need to push through in spite of the cold and the rain. They cooperated as best as they could and that’s all I needed. Children need us parents to lead by example and give them a platform to apply what we have taught them.

The ordeal was not over because the week after the meet, my two oldest got sick, then Hubby, then I got sick. I have learned to let God’s peace reign in my heart and home no matter what because it really starts within. We took it easy that week and used that opportunity to learn from the situation and rest in knowing that our girls did their very best in spite of what they were facing.
