My 2019 Mother’s Day Celebration

My 2019 Mother's Day CelebrationMy 2019 Mother’s Day Celebration kicked off on Friday with a Mother’s Day Tea at Babygirl’s preschool. I look forward to it every year since the first year she started and thankful for seasoned women who come alongside other moms to encourage and uplift in the motherhood journey because God knows how much it’s needed. Mrs Debbie, the Preschool’s director, does it generously with love and discernment speaking God’s “on time” heart to us moms and I thank God for her! When you couple that with watching your child perform with her whole school songs to celebrate moms, you can’t help but thank God for Kleenex and the sweet memories.

My 2019 Mother's Day CelebrationOne of my Mother’s Day request since I became a mom is to have the Saturday to myself. For the past few years, I have been enjoying that day with a mom friend of mine and the crazy and fun stories are endless. My 2019 Mother’s Day Celebration took us this year to Boston, MA and we couldn’t wait. Our main thing on our Mother’s Day adventure consists of amazing food, shopping and fun places to explore.

My 2019 Mother's Day CelebrationThe plan was to visit Faneuil Hall Marketplace, have lunch and head to Boston Public Garden to explore. It did not quite go as planned because the traffic from Connecticut to Boston was crazy and we were getting hungry or even hangry so we decided instead to stop at Wegmans for lunch and enjoy some shopping at Natick Mall. My family and friends know my love for Wegmans and I didn’t feel an ounce of regret changing plans.

My 2019 Mother's Day CelebrationWe had lunch at Wegmans and proceeded to go shopping at Natick Mall with the vast selection of stores. We were thinking about heading to Boston afterwards when good old Google Maps let us know that with two crashes on the road, it will take us pretty much the rest of our afternoon and evening to visit Boston and back. We decided to be spontaneous and found out that there was a State Park five minutes from the mall which was perfect for the gorgeous Spring weather we were having.

My 2019 Mother's Day CelebrationWe headed to Cochituate State Park and stumbled upon a sailing race that was happening at the time. The Annual Donald Greene Regatta at Lake Cochituate State Park, Natick, Massachusetts is hosted by Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, Wellsley High School, and Wayland High School.

My 2019 Mother's Day CelebrationThe annual Donald Greene Regatta is about 25 high school teams from around the state, including co-host Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, sailing around Lake Cochituate. My 2019 Mother’s Day Celebration felt extra special watching the high schoolers sailing and celebrating a man whose life along with others on United Flight 93 during the 9/11 terrorist attacks almost 10 years ago is worth remembering. Sometimes plans do change for a reason and I have learned to go with the flow and I am glad we did!

My 2019 Mother's Day CelebrationMy 2019 Mother’s Day Celebration was all about sleeping in on Sunday morning because I got in late from my get away when I was greeted with beautiful cards and a breakfast that remind me how blessed I am. We went to church and my yummy destination after church was to  Brasitas in Norwalk, CT.  Brasitas is a spanish restaurant that showcases a Latin fusion cuisine coupled with authentic Latin American traditions and values.

My 2019 Mother's Day CelebrationMy heart and tummy were set on a delicious dish of Pargo Rojo Frito with citrus Mojo Marinated Fried Whole Red Snapper, Organic Greens, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Avocado Salad, Oregano-Lemon Vinaigrette and Tostones.  The Red Snapper was so creatively displayed that it was hard to resist.

My 2019 Mother's Day CelebrationThe girls enjoyed some chicken, beef and pork empanadas along with some shrimp tacos that were simply delicious. Hubby opted for Pollo a La Parilla, a Chimichurri Marinated Organic Chicken with Potatoe Puree, Spring Peas, Green Beans and Lemon- Garlic Sauce. When the server brought the check with a red rose, this WELLthy Mom was all smile because it’s all about the simple touch and things in life.

My 2019 Mother's Day CelebrationMy 2019 Mother’s Day Celebration was every bit of perfection centered around the things I love: Faith, Family, Wellness, Food, Fashion and Travel. I hope you had your own kind of amazing Mother’s Day and remember that self-care is not just on Mother’s Day but to do something every day that fuels your mind, body and spirit. It’s all about making yourself the priority and not an option as you mother and take care of others. Happy Mother’s Day and Bisous!
