Quick and Easy Homemade Pizza Recipe

Quick and Easy Homemade Pizza RecipeHubby treated us to a quick and easy homemade pizza recipe and we couldn’t get over how good it was. Our family has a Friday night tradition of homemade fast food so the whole family can be found in the entertainment room enjoying a family movie with some fried plantains and fish or homemade pizza or fried chicken with fries.

Quick and Easy Homemade Pizza RecipeI came across Brooklyn BRED pizza crusts while shopping at Whole Foods and I wanted to give it a try. I had made plans to make pizza for our Family Friday Movie night and I couldn’t wait but Hubby beat me to it. As I read on Brooklyn BRED’s website, perhaps the most savored lesson one learns is that the success of every great pizza starts and finishes with the crust.

Quick and Easy Homemade Pizza RecipeBrooklyn Bred Pizza Crusts are formulated, fermented and hearth-baked with that same Brooklyn lesson in mind, and in “bite”! Thin, lite, with a bubbly personality, the crusts are ready-to-top, ready-to-crisp, ready-to-entertain! I have been very intrigued by the company behind the pizza crust Hubby turned into a quick and easy homemade pizza recipe.

Quick and Easy Homemade Pizza RecipeIn 1930, the founder and grandfather immigrated to America, opened a storefront bakery, and baked fresh and delicious old-world breads for his new-found Brooklyn neighbors. He would call his bakery Damascus Bakery, in homage to his motherland. Today, the family pays homage to their Brooklyn roots with a newborn brand name: BROOKLYN BRED® SINCE 1930 and Hubby paid homage to their pizza crust with the oh so delicious quick and easy homemade pizza recipe below.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Brooklyn Bred Ancient Grain Pizza Crust
  • ¼ Cup Pasta Sauce
  • ¼ Cup Fresh Mozzarella – Sliced
  • ¼ Cup Smoked Gouda – Shredded
  • ½ Cup Cooked Chicken – Diced
  • ¼ Cup Cooked Sausage – Diced
  • 1 red onion – Sauteed
  • Minced Garlic – Sauteed
  • 2 Tablespoons Chopped Basil

Brush Brooklyn Bred Crust generously with olive oil. Spread with a bit of the blended cheeses then pasta sauce evenly along crust. Top with chicken and sausage then top with sauteed onions and garlic. Finish off with the blended cheeses. Bake directly on rack or pizza stone at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, or until toppings are melted and crust is crisp. Remove and top with chopped basil. Serve immediately and  Bon Appetit!!
